Welcome to the Prive Lab webpage.

The Prive lab is located at the Toronto Medical Discoveries Tower (TMDT) in the MaRS DD (Medical and Related Sciences Discovery District). Our lab uses various techniques in structural biology and computational biology to gain insights into the structure and function of proteins.

The three-dimensional structure of a protein is the most important determinant of its function and is therefore a key ingredient in understanding its biology. We use x-ray crystallography to solve the structures of proteins, and we further explore the structure through mutation and physical and chemical analysis. We are also interested in linking sequence information to protein structure, in the hopes of taking advantage of the advances in genome sequencing projects to yield structural insights.
